Visiting the Eagles Autism Foundation’s Sensory Room (Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia)

Tracie Smith

My dear friend, Virginia Spencer, Special Education Advocate from Austin joined me in Philadelphia these past 5 days to see the sights around town.

We had a fantastic time in this wonderful city and experienced the amazing Lincoln Financial Field stadium (home to the Philadelphia Eagles Football Team) when we took in an Eagles game on Thursday.

One of the highlights of the stadium was visiting the Eagles Autism Foundation’s sensory room. Thanks to the wonderful staff, Virginia and I explored that amazing sensory room and are happy to report that it was everything we had imagined and more!

The sensory room housed everything from beanbags to tactile walls, comfortable and noise cancelling headphones and sensory friendly lighting - well done Eagles Autism Foundation!! We can only hope that all venues who house large sporting and non-sporting events will follow suit.

Thank you to Virginia who is a Kansas City Chief’s supporter for agreeing to wear Eagles colors to the game.

Hope you enjoy the pics.. and GO EAGLES!!!
