What our Parents Say...

I contacted Tracie as I met her at a conference in Boston a few years back. We needed help with our 3 year old’s entry into school. Our son had recently been diagnosed with autism and we didn’t know where to start but did know we needed an advocate to come to our child’s IEP meeting with his school to make sure he received services appropriate to his needs, which to be honest, we did not realize the extent of them. Initially, I thought I needed an advocate in Boston but I found out Tracie also does work in Boston and my meeting with the school I wanted Tracie to support us with was remote anyway. She attended that meeting and, instead of our son being misclassified for special ed, Tracie managed to get the special ed services our son needed. She was very nice and really super funny too.

Tracie is a kind advocate who knows a lot about special education. We used Tracie’s services for our son when we lived in the Bronx. We moved out of state prior to the summer but Tracie can help with our son’s new school too! Tracie wasn’t able to come to NC for our son’s summer meeting with the BOE in person but she was able to do attend virtually and that worked out perfectly. We were nervous as our son will be in junior year in his new school so we wanted to make sure his new school year would be successful. We are hoping Tracie can come in person for his next meeting and, if we give her enough notice, she might come and see us for that.

Tracie came to us as a recommendation from my sister who is a neighbor of Tracie. We knew Tracie was a special eduction advocate who had a son with autism like our brother but had not personally used her services before retaining. My husband is an attorney also in New York however does not have experience with special ed. We were both so happy we found Tracie - she was respectful, could relate and we were ever so grateful for her to attend my brother’s IEP meetings where we got the services we needed for him and that was largely because of her. I recently enjoyed meeting Tracie and her family also in a social situation at my sister’s event - Tracie is genuine and kind and is down to earth which is what any special needs family could hope for.

We met Tracie through friends and when I found out she was an advocate who also could work in my son’s school district I was so thankful. I met with her the next week and I secured her services for the whole year! My son jumped 2 grade levels in 1 year just by having the appropriate services in place. I was worried as Tracie had not worked in my district before but she was great! My husband and I are also proud to call her our friend. Tracie has a son with special needs which sure does help to have that genuine compassion and determination for families like ours.

When Tracie asked me could I write a review for her website I jumped at the chance. My husband found Tracie through a LinkedIn tip she posted. We left everything to last minute due to covid to get our son the right services for going back to school. I attended the first IEP meeting but it became clear that I would need an advocate going forward - the principal was very hostile and defensive and not productive at all. I called Tracie who was on vacation but promised to get back to me that following week - she did. She was upfront and I was clear of what I needed to do. We had our meeting and Tracie attended - the meeting was quite different to the previous one and we were able to get the setting that my son needed without going to a hearing (which we were prepared to do). I am so glad I did not go with another advocate when she was on vacation and I will refer Tracie to anyone I know!

I was referred to Tracie from my ABA provider as my son needed more support in his District 75 program. Tracie was able to secure ABA hours for him and he is doing wonderful now. The Department of Education took so long for our settlement but we were compensated for the hours that were missed in our agreement.

Our little guy was heading into kindergarten and I had looked around for special education advocates to seek pendency on his services from preschool. Only one other advocate said they did due process hearings while the others referred me to attorneys. I called Tracie and we had Benjamin’s services in place and the District funded them. It was pretty straightforward.

I always joke that the difference between a special education attorney and a special education advocate is about $5000! I know there is more than that, seriously though Tracie has helped our family secure the school we needed for our twins with ease. She kept us updated and always came back to us with answers to our questions promptly and, frankly, she is just a really nice person! This review is written on behalf of my wife also.

I was having many problems with our school and an IEP meeting was called. I called up an advocate but she told us she did not attend IEP meetings but can advise us. I needed someone to advise us and attend the meeting for support. I called Tracie’s office and she sorted everything for us. She’s very good at her job and I first thought she was English, turns out she’s an Aussie!

I used two special ed attorneys in the city before I found Tracie. First I was apprehensive to use an advocate rather than an attorney but on Tracie’s initial phone consult, I was confident she could help me navigate services for my 7 year old daughter. We had to go to a hearing because the BOE wouldn’t work with us but we won it and I was kept informed which I liked.

Our son is in High School and is very behind his classmates. I was referred to Tracie through a parent in my support group. From the first time I called her I felt comfortable and less stressed. Even though my son had an IEP for many years I had no idea how to help him. After Tracie's recommendation for private testing we found our son has a different disability than listed on his IEP. It was a fight but Tracie got Austin all the services he needed including a more supportive school setting. I am so thankful I found Tracie, she is good people.

I met Tracie through my daughter's Early Intervention teacher when I was voicing my concerns about the subpar services her sister, also with special needs, was receiving from our school district so I reached out to her. I felt comfortable speaking with her from our first encounter… she shared stories of her own son's struggles and my husband and I knew she was genuine and we felt very comfortable she could guide us in the right direction. So we retained Tracie for both our children. She obviously knew her stuff but she's super kind and that's important to us.
